Championns Poem I Wrote..

Champions
June 7th
A battle took place on ice
Not easily won
Lady Luck seemed to be slipping from grasp once again
Down but not out
3 goals to two
Going into the last 20 minutes
A tie would come to pass
Now to get the lead
That happened
Leaving those fans clad in red holding their breath for 7:37
Ready to exhale 43 years of pain
Tick
Tick
Went the minutes
Stopping for every icing
Felt like an hour each time
Then the clock froze
Time continued to move though
Point six seconds left
Would they hold?
Yes!
The Washington Capitals finally captured the Cup.
Vanquishing the new Golden Knights
Slaying the last dragon standing in between the pipes
Leaving them with a chink in their golden armor they won’t soon forget
Tears of joy and smiles for those in the Red Kingdom
Near and far
Memories were made that night in Vegas
That will last a lifetime
